Behavioral Health Overview:

If you have a passion for helping vulnerable populations, have strong relational skills, and love a challenge, consider working in a Behavioral Health career at Sanford. With new programs and services being added regularly, there are many exciting career opportunities available.

Behavioral health describes the linking between patient/resident behaviors and the health and well-being of their body, mind and spirit. Your patients/residents may be facing a diagnosis of a chronic disease, a childhood trauma, an addiction, or any number of personal difficulties and it's your job to put them at ease and help them work through their wave of anguish without having further negative reactions. Our Behavioral Health employees work in a variety of treatment centers, inpatient and outpatient settings, home health, hospice, or long-term-care centers. Depending on your job title, you may work with patients/residents individually or in groups and the time spent with each varies considerably. For example, Crisis Response Workers may spend a short amount of time with a patient where Counselors and Therapists may develop long-term relationships.
