Due to the nature of our work flexibility in schedules is both needed and provided. Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. However, there are times when a special event, community engagement opportunity or donor visit will occur outside of these hours. Flexible work schedules and hybrid work locations are allowed, provided that accountability metrics are being met.

The Foundation team of four in the Bismarck region works collaboratively across our individual roles in order to meet our team goals with the support of a greater operations team.

Job Summary

Carries out a variety of healthcare development opportunities for Sanford and holds a leadership role in the Sanford Foundation. Key responsibilities in development administration, donor recognition, annual fund, major gift and special event coordination. Responsibilities include writing for donor communication, making personal contacts with and soliciting major gifts from corporate donors and individual prospects, leading specific fundraising campaigns, and collaborating with support team. Has an entrepreneurial spirit to identify and implement development opportunities as well as self-initiating skills and desires. Possess strong written, verbal and listening communication skills. Knowledgeable of development strategies and skills pertinent to making personal solicitations. Well organized with the ability to work well with interruptions and stress. Possesses flexibility and adaptability skills, which help to accommodate changing situations and workloads. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects to completion and possess a strong sense of customer service. Manages a diverse portfolio through traditional cultivation methods.


Bachelor’s degree is required.

Proven fundraising success record of raising major gifts preferred.

Familiarity with marketing principles as they apply to fundraising.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification designation preferred.
