Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is a seeking a Hematology Chair with a strong interest in malignant hematology to practice at Sanford's prestigious Roger Maris Cancer Center.

Sanford Health’s prestigious Roger Maris Cancer Center is looking to add board certified physicians with five or more years of experience in hematology and/or transplant care. Seeking an innovative department chair to lead a growing malignant hematology, cellular therapy, and nonmalignant hematology practice. With increasing patient volumes and the addition of services, the team is officially separating hematology and oncology services. The leadership position would include a role in education of fellows, residents, and medical students as well as leading and growing clinical research. A background in academics is encouraged but not required.

  • Lead an established team of 4 full-time hematologists and three APP’s while growing this group. Supported by 4 hematology nurse navigators and a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Be a key partner with the Roger Maris Cancer Center team’s 11 Medical Oncologists, 3 Pediatric Oncologists/ Hematologists, and 5 Radiation Oncologists.

  • Sanford’s Bone Marrow Transplant Program began performing autologous transplants in October 2021. Allogenic transplants began in December 2022, and CAR-T services are slated to start 2nd Quarter of 2023.

  • Hematology Oncology Fellowship launched in 2022.

  • The department is supported by survivorship programs, risk assessment, familial cancer clinic and supportive care clinics, as well as providing the only Hemophilia Treatment Center in the region for bleeding disorders.
