This Senior Clinical Learning and Development Specialist position involves exciting and innovative work! This position will primarily work in person in Fargo, ND with some flexibility for remote work. This person will have the opportunity to develop and foster relationships with academic partners and work with Sanford Health leadership for strategy on workforce initiatives.

This role will work in supporting a variety of different clinical and non-clinical roles including: Nursing (RN, LPN, BSN, MSN), Advance Practice Providers, Allied Health (surg tech, radiology tech, social work, respiratory therapy, lab, etc.).

Job Summary

Assess, regulate, organize, and coordinate student learning programs in accordance with organizational strategy and accreditation regulations. This position oversees student clinical programming at Sanford Health in the Fargo market while working with an Enterprise team. Delegates the authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to support student learning and development at Sanford Health. Collaborates with educational facilities, employees, and other community agencies to provide education to facilitate student clinical experiences at Sanford. Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for a comprehensive student clinical learning program. Provide guidance and direction to directors, other educators, and/or health team members. Flexibility as well as effective planning and organizational skills are required. Ability to develop strong working relationships, manage projects, facilitate change processes and effectively communicate with internal and external stake holders. Demonstrates successfully working with diverse groups of people in order to accomplish a common goal. Effective communication skills are essential: personal, verbal, written, and electronic. Ability to function in a collaborative, fast-paced, customer-driven organization. Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office/Windows applications, analytical decision-making, information gathering, presentation, project management.


Master's degree required. Field of study preference based on department training focus and specialties.

In lieu of Master's degree, will consider minimum eight years working experience equivalency. Additionally, have a minimum of four years’ experience in a healthcare environment providing education/training, including the use of automated software applications. Ideally have at least two years project management experience as well as knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods is preferred.

Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications based on program training needs of the department and population focus.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
