This role will see you working 11:00am to 7:30pm every Mon, Wed, Friday and every other weekend/holiday 10:30am to 5:00pm

Job Summary

Organized Health Unit Coordinator to work a busy 33 bed Post-Acute Unit to help the HIM and Nursing departments with phone calls, transcription, data entry, appointments and other tasks to ensure the best possible quality of care for our patients.

May be assigned other HIM & receptionist functions to support departmental workflows. Assists with processing medical records, answering the center phone calls, data entry, transcribing physician orders, copying, scanning, printing and faxing documents. Assists the nursing department on a busy 33 bed Post-Acute unit with paperwork and telephone calls associated with admissions, transfers or discharges in addition to scheduling appointments and transportation. Assists HIM department with running reports, audits, ICD 10 coding and other assigned duties.


Associate's degree in Health Information or Medical Record Technology required.

In lieu of education requirement, may consider the equivalent of two years of Health Information Management (HIM) or revenue cycle experience.

One year of health information or revenue cycle experience in health care required.

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
