  • Jennifer Spadgenske

I have been with Sanford Health from the very beginning of my pharmacy career when I started as a pharmacy intern in 2017. My career has benefited from the investment of pharmacy leaders here at Sanford Health. I have been supported through mentorship programs, progressive learning opportunities, and encouragement with every step of my career. After completing my PGY1 residency here at SMCF, I was able to take the strong foundational knowledge and be a competitive candidate at a PGY2 critical care program at a larger volume center. When deciding where I wanted to start my career Sanford was the obvious choice due to the combination of high acuity patient population, supportive pharmacy department, and the high-quality interdisciplinary relationships between pharmacy, providers, and nursing staff. I was able to bring my training back to our institution to practice critical care at the highest degree our license allows. When the opportunity arose to advance my career with a partnership with NDSU, I was encouraged by my pharmacy mentors and had the knowledge and expertise to succeed as a joint faculty member in pharmacy practice at NDSU. I now get to provide high-quality evidence-based care to our patients and expose our future pharmacists to all that Sanford pharmacy has to offer.
