Job Summary

This position supports Supply Chain Management activities to reduce risk and create value by participating in a team collaborative approach to dynamic Category Management through application of value analysis, contracting, and supply disruption mitigation best practices. This position requires collaboration with all functions of Supply Chain Management and Clinical Operations. This position serves as a trusted and credible advisor by preparing comprehensive information and recommendations to help drive evidence-based decisions which support improved safety, quality outcomes, and financial stewardship. Collaborates internally with Category Management peers and cross-functionally with other Supply Chain resources to analyze, interpret, and translate data into communicable information for opportunities or impacts.

Participates in the development of long-term product and/or service acquisition strategies including opportunity development, contract planning and alignment, and promotion of variation reduction. Connects supply chain strategy to clinical and operational outcomes through an extensive understanding of organizational goals and external supplier synergies.

Cultivates productive relationships with suppliers and service lines which maximize value and support clinical performance.

Leverages clinical expertise to recommend potentially acceptable products in supply disruption events such as backorders, discontinuations, and recalls to minimize impacts to patient care and/or operations.

Must be able to work well with a variety of teams and be confident communicating verbally and in writing on a variety of clinical topics.

Support use of preferred medical products through collaboration and communication.

Change leadership is an essential function.

Triage and resolve customer concerns daily. Build relationships with customers through interactions and support in a highly professional manner.

Participates and may lead in development and continuous improvement of Category Management team processes and competencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master’s degree preferred.

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).

Minimum seven years’ experience as a registered nurse. Inpatient procedural area experience preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
