Salary Range: $27.50 - $44
Day-to-day lead and acts as the point person in the absence of a supervisor.
Develops, evaluates, and implements new tests, methodologies, or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of the laboratory directors. Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Organizes new method validation data. Must have demonstrated skills in leadership, communications, problem solving and organization. Must be able to work independently and effectively with a variety of people at all levels both within and outside of Sanford Health. Must be highly organized , efficient, and capable of comprehending complex instructions and situations. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, function independently and exercise judgement in decision-making.
Bachelors degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required.
Two years of laboratory related experience preferred.
Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
