Department Details
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab specializes in cardiac catheterization, vascular and structural heart procedures, and electrophysiology. Procedures performed in our lab include:
- Angiograms (peripheral, iliac, mesenteric and renal) with intervention
Catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis
Central line placement
Complex chronic total occlusion
Emergency care
Fistulagram
Left and right heart catheterizations with percutaneous intervention
IMPELLA heart pump placement and replacement
Inferior vena cava filter placement and removal
Intra-aortic balloon pump placement and removal
Intracoronary ultrasound
Left atrial appendage closure
Rotational and orbital atherectomy
Valve replacement
Nurses in our unit grow in their professional practice, gaining critical skills for the complex care of our cardiovascular patients. We are known for our wonderful team approach, where providers and nurses work closely together to deliver exceptional patient care.
This position is a part of a team-driven atmosphere! You can be part of the newest innovations in this unit. Also, you are able to have a direct impact on patient's health by working as a team alongside the physician. On top of regular hours, this position only requires 1 on-call shift per week and every 5th weekend.

Responsibilities
Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
