Opportunities for advancement
Crosstrain RN opportunity between Pulmonary & Emergency Department:
The 30-bed Pulmonary medical surgical unit and eight-bed progressive care unit equips nurses with fundamental critical care experience in mechanical ventilation, while providing a solid nursing foundation focused on safe patient outcomes. Nursing staff collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of specialty providers, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, case managers and social workers to deliver patient-centered care.
Average length of stay is four days on the wings and nine days in pulmonary acute care. Diagnosis in the pulmonary population ranges from pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure and pulmonary embolism to complex cases requiring nursing skills for oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, chest tubes, tracheostomies, postoperative care, non-invasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation and cardiac monitoring. The diverse patient population and the supportive family culture of the pulmonary unit offer a great atmosphere to advance your nursing skills.
Our emergency department (ED) is a 32-bed unit that cares for patients of all ages with all ranges of diagnoses, from minor to critical to life-threatening conditions. We are a stroke center, cardiac center, and a Level II adult and pediatric trauma center.
During a typical day, our ED treats between 110 and 140 patients. Nursing staff collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of providers, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, case managers and social workers to deliver patient-centered care. We provide a diverse patient population that offers a great atmosphere to help patients in an acute patient setting.
We’re looking for positive, compassionate, hardworking registered nurses (RN) who can provide the high-quality care patients and families have come to expect from us. In our fast-paced work environment, the registered nurses who thrive are adaptable, great communicators, detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills. Because innovation impacts everything we do, our nursing team is full of critical thinkers who aren’t afraid to ask tough questions. Whether you’re a newly graduated registered nurse or have years of experience as an RN, we want someone willing to work closely with our nursing leaders to advance the organization.
