Job Summary

Carries out a variety of healthcare development activities for Sanford and holds a support role within the Sanford Foundation. Provides support for the Foundation’s development and stewardship functions by assisting with office coordination and fundraising efforts. Is responsible for providing support to development team, overseeing donor stewardship efforts and also collaborates with development support teams. The Sanford Health Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven development professional to oversee the stewardship and engagement of Sanford Health's elite and mega donors in the Sioux Falls region. This role is integral to our efforts to foster strong, long-term relationships with our most significant benefactors, working closely with our top fundraisers to ensure a world-class donor experience.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional self-initiating skills and a demonstrated desire to take ownership of donor relationships. They must have strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills, be knowledgeable in advanced development strategies, and have experience making high-level personal solicitations. Comfort with public speaking, both one-on-one and in group settings, is essential.

This individual will be highly organized, capable of navigating frequent interruptions and a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility and adaptability are key traits, along with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while consistently delivering a strong customer service experience. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in Canva, social media platforms, Excel, and possess a general understanding of finance to support donor communications, reporting, and stewardship activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

Stewarding Sanford Health’s top-tier donors, ensuring personalized and meaningful engagement to deepen relationships and inspire continued philanthropy.

Collaborating with top fundraisers to support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of elite and mega donors.

Leading and executing targeted stewardship activities, campaigns, and special projects to recognize and retain major donors.

Making personal contacts and solicitations with corporate donors and prospects as needed.

Partnering with central services teams (IT, finance, reporting) to ensure seamless donor experience, including managing and analyzing donor information and generating key metric reports.

Monitoring and facilitating the flow of information between the development team and central services to support efficient and effective donor stewardship.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with our most valued donors, internal teams, and leadership. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Three years experience in fundraising, event planning, volunteer management, marketing or other related areas preferred.
