Department Details

A successful candidate for this position will have prior work experience in the healthcare industry or knowledge of anatomy based on academic background. No trauma registry experience is required. Training and required courses will be provided as part of the orientation process.

Job Summary

Maintains the Trauma Registry system to provide accurate data and statistics in support of trauma program operations, trauma performance improvement, and patient safety program as a requirement of maintaining American College of Surgeon's Trauma Center Verification. Researches trauma through statistical measures and performance improvement. Maintains a high degree of data entry accuracy as well as strong organization skills. Knowledgeable of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical records procedures.

Qualifications

Associate degree or certification in health care related field desired.

Prior experience with computerized information systems preferred. Prior experience with Trauma Registry software preferred. Individual with equivalent education and/or experience will be considered.

Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) and American Trauma Society's Trauma Registrar course or equivalent within first year of hire. Maintain throughout employment.
