Job Summary

Good Samaritan Society – Scandia Village is committed to creating a home for our residents that is much like their own — a welcoming and loving place. Our range of exceptional care and service options for seniors and others in need in our community includes senior apartments, assisted living apartments and outpatient therapy. Follows scheduled activity program to provide daily programming to residents to enhance their psychosocial wellbeing.

Utilized input from residents to elicit resident involvement in planning and providing activities suited to the desires and needs of residents at all different levels of cognitive and physical function.

Partakes in activities appropriate for the residents to support and ensure functioning at an optimal level while also maintaining dignity and identity.

Assists with transporting residents to and from activity programs as needed and as defined by level of care in resident’s care plan.

Displays creativity and resourcefulness in structuring and adapting activities to the individual as well as time management in delivering daily activities.

Possesses the ability to work with strong willed personalities and/or residents with behavioral issues.

Ensures accurate documentation of activities provided.

Demonstrates the ability to follow written and verbal instructions while working under close supervision. Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills. Maintains strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Prioritizes responsibilities while working autonomously.


High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience in social services or creative activities are preferred.

Depending on location, this role classifies a Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license.
