You will experience the day-to-day life of an Registered Nurse in a variety of roles and settings. This hands-on, 10-week, full-time (36-40 hours/week), paid internship will expand your clinical skills and knowledge under the guidance of an experienced nurse preceptor. Following the 10-week program in the summer, interns have the opportunity to extend the internship into the school year. This is a great opportunity to make a difference for those served in your care and to strengthen your clinical skill set.
Applications will be accepted from Aug. 28 to Oct. 12.

What students have said about their experience with SSNIP
I was able to practice my skills a lot, saw a lot of different things, and able to do most of my patient cares on my own by the end which is what they said was going to happen!
I feel the SSNIP objectives were met because I was able to perform many skills, assessments, medications passes, and education to patients and their families while remaining ethical and safe. This experience provided me with the resources and tools to confidently meet my objectives for this internship and grow not only as a future nurse but as a person as well.
I have learned many different hard and soft skills while working with my preceptor. We consistently talk with patients and their families, updating them on their care plan when able. I also get to practice a lot of hard skills such as foleys, IVs, and much more.
I LOVED this program. I learned more than I could imagine and it allows you to practice being a nurse safely. Through this internship, I found my passion in the ICU, learned how to provide effective care, and think critically.
