Job Summary

Provides leadership and direction for the clinical and business operation of Radiation Physics for Sanford. Provides consultation to physicians in the application of physics in externally delivered ionizing radiation or internally implanted radioactive sources. Possesses a thorough knowledge of medical and radiological physics, mathematics, radiation biology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, computer science, and electronics. Serves on radiation safety committee and other meetings as necessary. Participates in enterprise meetings. Responsible for submitting variance reports on a monthly basis. Maintains the safe application of therapies. Serves as a liaison between physicians to ensure optimal care is delivered to patients.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics, or Radiological Physics with specialize training in radiation therapy and physics is required.

Minimum of two years’ experience working in radiation oncology department with responsibilities in radiation is required.

Board certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Physics, Therapeutic Medical Physics, or Therapeutic Radiologic Physics is required. Registration with the North Dakota State Department of Health is required.
