Practice Details

Sanford Health is seeking an Optometrist certified by the NBEO (National Board of Examiners in Optometry) to join its optical group in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

  • Established 2 physician practice supported by staff who are cross -trained as opticians and technicians.

  • New in 2021, retail optical shop and optometry department are located across the street from the main campus on Washington Avenue. Private office with floor to ceiling windows..

  • No call responsibilities.

  • Current schedule has been Monday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm . Option to work 4 or 5 days a week with flexibility on start and end of day.

  • Current optometrist sees 15-20 patients per day

  • Multispecialty group practice including audiology, behavioral health, dermatology, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, surgery, urology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and outreach from Fargo for other specialties including opthalmology.

  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota.

  • Two -year guaranteed compensation with the opportunity to earn upside from Day One.

Compensation Package

Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance. Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $146,644 - $189,775 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs. Additional incentives may be offered. Actual compensation offers may vary and are determined based on multiple factors including education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice and actual job requirements.

Detroit Lakes has a population of 9,869 and unofficial population during summer months is much higher, estimated to peak about 13,000, due to seasonal residents and tourists. Located 45 miles to the east of Fargo-Moorhead and 205 miles southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul. It is a regional summer and winter recreation destination! Live and work where you play!
