Department Details

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4-10 hour shifts, 7am-5:30pm, with one day off a week. No weekends, no late nights, no holidays.

Job Summary

Responsible for on-site reprocessing of flexible endoscopes, ensuring surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are decontaminated, inspected, and documented per manufacturer guidelines and facility policies. The Endoscope Reprocessing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, high-level disinfection, reprocessing of endoscopes and accessories in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards. This role ensures proper handling, inspection, storage, reprocessing, and documentation of devices and equipment while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This position does not involve direct patient care but plays a critical role in supporting clinical teams by ensuring endoscopes are properly maintained and available for procedures.

Operate and maintain automated endoscope reprocessors (AER) and other related equipment, ensuring functionality and proper maintenance. Perform quality control checks and adhere to infection prevention policies. Maintain accurate documentation of scope reprocessing and load tracking in compliance with facility and regulatory standards. Follow all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a clean and efficient work environment. Collaborate with the GI team to ensure scopes are available and ready for procedures.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred. On-the-job training will be provided.

Previous experience in sterile processing, endoscope reprocessing, or a related field is preferred

Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Required within 1 year in position
