Sanford Health has an opening for a Hospitalist to provide medical care to patients of Fargo, ND and the surrounding area.

POSITION TITLE: Hospitalist POSITION DUTIES: Provide internal medicine medical care to adult inpatients in a hospital setting. Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to hospital inpatients. Duties include examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative services. More specific duties include but are not limited to: prescribing medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients; admitting patients for hospital stays; writing patient discharge summaries and send them to primary care physicians; conducting discharge planning and discharging patients; ordering or interpreting the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiographs (x-rays); communicating with patients’ primary care physicians upon admission, when treatment plans change, or at discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care; referring patients to medical specialists; social services or other professionals as appropriate; participating in continuing education activities to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills and attending inpatient consultations in areas of specialty. EDUCATION: Medical degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine TRAINING: 36 month Internal Medicine residency. Number of months of training required is dependent upon the number of months necessary to complete medical training leading to completion of Internal Medicine residency program.
