Sanford Health has an opening for a Medical Oncology/Hematology physician to provide medical care to patients of Fargo, ND and the surrounding area.
POSITION TITLE: Medical Oncologist/Hematologist POSITION DUTIES: Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients adolescence to adult with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors. Rescue cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Preliminary review of diagnostic studies as ordered by physician. Pediatric care (Patients less than 18 years old). Cancer prevention and screening, including competency in genetic testing and counseling as they relate to hereditary cancers and hematologic disorders for high risk individuals. Interpretation of complete blood count, including platelets and white cell differential, by means of automated or manual techniques, with appropriate quality control. Nutritional support. Order exchange transfusion. Administration of chemotherapeutic agents and biological products through all therapeutic routes. Multi-agent chemotherapy protocols and combined modality therapy in the treatment of neoplastic disorders. Management and care of indwelling venous access catheters. Access and care of a Ommaya reservoir. Management of the psychosocial care of patients with cancer and hematologic disorders to include pain management, anxiety, depression and palliative care including hospice and home care. Serial measurement of tumor masses. Support to Bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy patients. EDUCATION: Medical degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine TRAINING: Medical Oncology/Hematology residency. Number of months of training required is dependent upon the number of months necessary to complete medical training leading to completion of Medical Oncology/Hematology residency program. LICENSE: North Dakota state medical license or ability to obtain. BC/BE
